Kakheti

Kakheti is the Tuscany of Georgia, but wilder. It's the birthplace of wine—where the 8,000-year-old Qvevri tradition lives on. Beyond the vineyards, it's a land of rolling yellow hills, looking out over the Alazani Valley towards the massive wall of the Great Caucasus mountains. It feels different here—slower, warmer, and very hospitable.

  • Sighnaghi City

    City of Love
Sighnaghi is the 'postcard' of Kakheti. It was renovated to resemble an Italian hill town, but the soul remains Georgian. The main activity is the walk along the ancient city walls—you can climb up into the towers for a view of the Alazani Valley with the Caucasus mountains in the distance. It is a place for wandering.

  • Bodhbe Monastery

    Monastery of St. Nino
You are standing on the grounds chosen by St. Nino herself—the spiritual heart of the region. The atmosphere is distinct: the gardens are manicured and the air is hushed because this is an active nunnery. The main church ahead is your first stop.
